Qualifications

B.A. Eng, Span.
I have completed a 3 year full time B.A. degree in the subject areas of English and Spanish at UCD.

Cert. TESOL.
I have completed a full-time course in TESOL at the Applied Languages Centre of UCD. This is an ACELS accredited qualification.

P.G.D.E. Eng, Span.
I am in the process of completing a full-time PGDE course (formerly known as the H.dip) in English and Spanish at NUIM.

Experience

Secondary School
During my time as a secondary school teacher I have taught classes for Junior and Leaving Certificate English. This has included classes of mainstream, special educational needs and international students. As part of my current post, as well as teaching young students, I also conduct a number of adult education classes, aimed at mature students returning to education. I have adapted to a number of different teaching environments during these posts.

TESOL
I have taught English as a second language as part of my secondary teaching post. I have also taught as part of Summer School programmes, and I have provided adult education classes in preparation for the world-recognised Cambridge and Trinity exams. TESOL classes are fun, cultural lessons which promote both accuracy and fluency in the English language.

Adult Education
I have taught both the Junior and Leaving Certificate English courses to adult students wishing to return to education. I have also taught English to international adult students, who are interested in learning English for a number of reasons, including conversation, business, basic English, and preparation for recognised exams.
